Program Information:
The Fire Science I certificate is designed to educate students for a career in the fire service and individuals employed in the Fire Rescue field. A combination of Fire Science and general education prepares graduates for advanced career opportunities and professional development.
We aim to focus on technical skills to develop educational experiences in fire protection and firefighter safety.
This Fire Science certificate includes training for state certification. Regulations governing this program require all applicants to meet specific functional abilities - some are without accommodations - for admission and/or successful program completion.

Admission Requirements:
The applicants must be high school graduates or equivalent. Students considered for acceptance must complete all admission requirements.
Please Note: Students are placed into English, math and reading courses based on ACT, ACCUPLACER or other nationally recognized tests. Please see
www.NDSCS.edu/current-students/student-success/test-center for the NDSCS Course Placement Policy and testing information. Students may be on an extended plan of study pending their course placement.
Award:
Upon successful completion of the required courses, students will be awarded a Certificate in Firefighter I.
