This theory course introduces the processes of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) to students to successfully weld on carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum plate. Topics include: GT AW safety, GTAW principles, GTAW equipment, GTAW gasses and electrodes, and GTAW technique. This course will also include shop industrial shop safety, thermal cutting processes including oxy fuel and carbon arc methods. Safety for the students such as Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and safe welding practices in the welding shop are emphasized. Welding and
cutting equipment, selection of welding supplies, and materials that are used in industry.
