Program Information:
The Sterile Processing program at NDSCS prepares individuals to play a vital role in patient safety by ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Sterile processing technicians are essential members of the healthcare team, working behind the scenes to maintain infection control standards and support surgical and procedural areas.

This program is designed to provide students with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to meet industry standards and prepare for certification after working the necessary amount of hours. The Sterile Processing certificate can serve as a standalone credential for entry into the healthcare field or as a stackable credential for individuals pursuing further education and career advancement in surgical technology, nursing, or other allied health professions.

Due to the critical nature of sterile processing in healthcare delivery, certified technicians are in demand across a wide range of settings, including hospitals, outpatient surgical centers, and specialty clinics at the local, regional, and national levels.

NOTE: This program requires access a personal laptop and printer, capable of completing the assignments/testing required by the program, with a current operating system and webcam/microphone.

Award:
Upon successful completion of the required courses students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion in Sterile Processing.
