Program Information:

The Civil Design Technician certificate program is designed to prepare students for work as civil engineering technicians with knowledge and proficiency using Autodesk software, allowing graduates to pursue careers related to civil drafting and design. Upon graduation, students can be employed with state, county, and city engineering offices as well as private agencies such as civil consulting engineers, and land surveying firms. 

The Civil Design Technician certificate curriculum will provide specialized training for individuals to become proficient using AutoCAD and Civil 30 software. Students will be given raw field data and will produce boundary and topographic drawings; final plat; plan and profile drawings; cross sections; pipe networks; and drainage plans. Through these hands-on courses. students will gain the knowledge to understand the Civil applications needed to be successful in the workforce as a Civil Design Technician.

Admission Requirements:

The applicants must be high school graduates or equivalent. Students considered for acceptance must complete all admission requirements.

Award:

Upon successful completion of the required courses, students will be awarded a Certificate in Civil Design Technician.
