Program Information:

The Electrical Apprentice Prep certificate program is designed to introduce students to the essential fundamentals required o f an apprentice electrician. This program provides a solid
pathway for students to gain the skills and knowledge needed to continue their education or enter the workforce with confidence.

Program Focus
Students will develop core skill s such as conduit bending, pathway layout, wire pulling, and terminations--daily tasks that form the foundation of an apprentice electrician's work. Coursework in AC fundamentals, code study, and basic wiring labs deepens their understanding of how and why electrical systems function.

By learning the fundamentals, theory, and electrical code, students gain a strong gateway into the electrical trade or further technical education. Since it can be difficult to know what direction a person's career path will take, this program offers a valuable opportunity to experience the trade and understand what electricians do on a day-to-day basis.

Work force Need and Employment Availability
• High Occupational Demand: The U.S. Department of Labor projects a 20% growth rate for Electrical Wiring according to Bureau of Labor Industry (BLS).

• Workforce age 19-24 is 11 .8% o f total age demographic which shows a high demand for apprentice electricians since the legal ratio for Journeyman to apprentice is I to 3 or I to 2 depending on the state.

The certificate serves a clear purpose: to efficiently train our future electricians and give them a head start on a great career path.

Admission Requirements:
The applicants must be high school graduates or equivalent. Students considered for acceptance must complete all admission requirements.
