Program Information:
The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is designed to prepare students for the many employment opportunities in the aviation industry.
Students are given extensive training and practical experiences in servicing all types of mechanical, electrical and structural systems of airplanes.
Students enrolled in Aviation Maintenance Technology study a variety of subjects, including welding, hydraulics, aerodynamics, aircraft drawings, physics, piston and turbine engines, aircraft systems, aircraft structure, electrical and many more. Training facilities are in excellent condition and labs are very well-equipped.
Students graduating from this Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified program are eligible to test for the airframe and powerplant certification upon completion. Graduates career opportunities in the aviation sector include employment at airlines, fixed base operators, manufacturers, repair stations or general aviation programs.
Admission Requirements*
The applicants must be high school graduates or equivalent. Students considered for acceptance must complete all admission requirements.

Award
Upon successful completion of the required courses, students will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
Core Curriculum
General Education Curriculum
To earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) in Aviation Maintenance Technology, students must also successfully complete in addition to the Aviation Maintenance Technology core courses, 15 credits of general education courses. Below are the general education courses required and recommended for the Aviation Maintenance Technology degree.
AAS General Education Program
English / Communication (3 credits)

Mathematics and/or Science (6 credits)
Recommended: MATH 120 and MATH 123 and MATH 125
Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities, History and/or Computer Technology (4 credits)
