TECH 130 will be a 1-hour long lecture and online class. Some of the time will be spent reading assigned text, completing learning modules and using academic course materials. The rest of the time will be spent completing assigned coursework and becoming certified in OSHA safety protocols. Time may be spent in lab to demonstrate safe handling of tools, equipment, pressurized tanks, ladders, and fire extinguishers.
This course will introduce the student to necessary safety skills, tools, and competencies required for working safely within the HVAC field. Electrical safety, mechanical safety, fire safety, ladder safety, and the use of proper PPE will be thoroughly covered.
