A continuation of DHYG 102L and DHYG 103L. This course provides instruction and continuing information on fundamental principles of dental hygiene. Clinical dental hygiene is that portion of the dental hygiene curriculum focused on developing the cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills necessary for delivery of preventive, educational and therapeutic services to the public. This comprehensive care involoves an assessment of patient needs, planning for treatment and disease control, implementation of various clinical dental hygiene services and an evaluation of both the patient and operator efforts and the results. Students participate in off-campus clinical experiences with a diverse patient population. Prerequisite: DHYG 103L. Corequisite: DHYG 201. (F)
