This course is a supervised lecture/laboratory course that prepares the allied dental student to competently produce intra and extra-oral radiographs. Emphasis includes the principals of x-ray production, biological effects of radiation, quality assurance, radiation safety, exposure, processing and mounting of radiographs, interpretation of dental radiographs and digital radiography. Recent concepts of dental imaging, digital radiographics, software, and state and federal regulations. Prerequisite: Acceptance into Dental Hygiene. (F)
