Credits 1CET 101: Introduction to Collision Repair
Credits 5This is a lab/lecture course covering the basic fundamentals of auto body repair. Emphasis is placed on learning the basic repair methods, stressing the quality of the repair. Lab tasks are performed on donated salvage vehicles while learning the theory in the classroom. Tasks are consistent with NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) and I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) standards. (F)
CET 102: Internship I
Credits 4This internship is to follow CET101. The student will maintain a daily log book. The intern shop will provide a mentor for the student. During the course of the internship period, an evaluation will be completed between the mentor, instructor, manager, and student. (F)
CET 103: Refinishing I
Credits 3This is a theory class that involves the introduction of refinishing equipment, terminology, and what all is involved in the refinishing side of the collision repair industry. Priming, masking, prep work of panels for primer and paint, and basic refinishing tasks will be introduced in class and practiced in a lab setting as well.
CET 104: Non-Structural I
Credits 3This is a lab/lecture class that will be going over more of the terminology in industry, identification of parts on vehicles, process of teardowns, and writing/reading basic estimates. This course will also cover glass repairs (movable and non-moveable) and plastic repairs (thermoset, thermoplastic, and composites).
